Longitudinal key joint

D.02Precast prestressed hollow-core floor
123456

How this node works

Between adjacent planks a shaped longitudinal joint is grouted: the «key» transfers vertical shear, so a load on one plank is shared with its neighbours and the floor works as a single deck.
