Directive 89/106/EEC (the Construction Products Directive) opened the European era of construction products: essential requirements for works, harmonized technical specifications and the first CE marking of products. Effective upon notification to Member States (27 December 1988; OJ L 40 of 11 February 1989), it was implemented in Italy by Presidential Decree 246/1993. It was repealed by Regulation (EU) 305/2011 (CPR), fully applicable from 1 July 2013, which replaced the attestation of conformity with the Declaration of Performance (DoP). For products placed on the market before 2013 it remains the period framework.
Construction products placed on the European market during its application, until 30 June 2013.
