Summary

TAV. 00

Presidential Decree 547 of 27 April 1955 was for over half a century the pillar of accident prevention in Italy: 406 articles on machine guarding, electrical installations, lifting equipment, hazardous materials and protective devices. Published in Official Gazette No. 158 of 12 July 1955 (in force from 27 July 1955), it was repealed by Legislative Decree 81/2008 (the consolidated safety act), in force since 15 May 2008, which absorbed and updated its subject matter. It remains the period reference for reconstructing safety obligations on sites and in workshops between 1955 and 2008.
