Microcement
Continuous composite coating of cement and polymer. At only 2-3 mm thick, it renovates existing surfaces without demolition, offering a raw material aesthetic with no joints and full waterproofing.
The system works through successive wet-on-wet layers. The fibreglass mesh in the primer prevents underlying grout joints from reflecting as cracks on the final surface.
Microcement has revolutionised the world of architectural renovation. It is not simple concrete: it is a high-performance hybrid in which the strength of cement merges with the elasticity of water-based liquid resins, creating an uninterrupted material skin of extraordinary versatility.
The success of this material lies in its very fine grain size and in the use of flexible polymers. Unlike traditional concrete, which would crack at millimetric thicknesses, microcement withstands structural stresses without breaking. Applied with a trowel in 4 or 5 cross-passes, it reaches a maximum thickness of 3 mm, making it possible to lay the new coating over the old one without demolishing tiles or trimming door hinges.
Being laid by hand by the craftsman, every surface is unique: the clouding and trowel marks define the brutalist or minimalist aesthetic of the coating. Total waterproofing is ensured by the final layer: a two-component polyurethane film (transparent, matt, satin or gloss) that closes the pores and acts as a shield against scratches, household acids and grease stains.

Usage environment
Being sealed with polyurethane, microcement does not breathe. If applied at ground-floor level without a proper vapour barrier on the screed, osmotic pressure from rising damp will eventually break the sealant.
